Metropolitan Anthony of Chersonesus and Western Europe visits Italian city of Bari

From August 4 to 6, 2021, Metropolitan Anthony of Chersonesus and Western Europe, head of the Moscow Patriarchate office for institutions abroad, was on a visit to Bari, Italy. 

In the evening of August 4, the archpastor was met at the airport by Archpriest Vyachelsav Bachin, rector of the Patriarchal Bari Representation of St. Nicholas. Upon his arrival in the city, Metropolitan Anthony proceeded to the basilica in which the relics of St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, lie in rest and lifted up a pray at the shrine. After that, he visited the Patriarchal Representation. 

On August 5, Metropolitan Anthony, assisted by Archpriest Vyacheslav Bachin, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Basilica of St. Nicholas. 

On the same day, the archpastor conducted a prayer service at the Representation’s church of St. Nicholas and sprinkled with holy water the premises in which restoration and adornment works had been carried out. 

On the following day, Metropolitan Anthony, assisted by Archpriest Vyacheslav Bachin, celebrated the Liturgy at the St. Nicholas church. After the service, he thanked the rector for his work to maintain the beauty of the historic compound of the Patriarchal Representation in Bari.
