“Priests” and supporters of the OCU attempted to seize a church in the village of Kolodnoye, Zbarazh district, Ternopol region. St. Nicholas church belongs to the community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The video of the raiders’ attack was posted by the lawyer and human rights activist Victoria Kokhanovskaya on her Facebook page. The video features the OCU supporters dragging the female parishioners away from the church and throwing them to the ground, as well as beating the men who were trying to protect their holy place.
According to the Union of Orthodox Journalists, the parishioners have succeeded in defending their church in Kolodnoye, but the chairman of the united territorial community has set the task of transferring all churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Zbarazh district to the OCU. At present, only two out of twelve UOC church buildings have not been forcefully seized.
