Metropolitan Ioasaf of Kirovograd and Novomirgorod has made an open appeal to the head of the Kirovograd regional military administration and the leaders of the law-enforcement structures of the region over the violations of constitutional rights and freedoms of the faithful in the Diocese of Kirovograd of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports the Union of Orthodox Journalists with a reference to the press service of the UOC Diocese of Kirovograd.
The appeal points to unlawful and anti-constitutional actions of public agents in some local communities, in particular, in the United Peregonovksaya Community and the Adzhamka Village Council in the Kropivnitskiy District.
In his letter, Metropolitan Ioasaf asks the authorities to take urgent procedural-legal actions, to present an appropriate legal evaluation of the illegal actions and to put the perpetrators on trial. He also called upon the authorities to promote in future the protection of the rights and freedoms of the faithful of the UOC Diocese of Kirovograd.
