On May 14, 2022, representatives of Orthodox youth organizations and parish groups in Germany met in Bad Kissingen. The meeting was attended by 80 young people. The work of the meeting resulted in establishing an All-German Orthodox youth organization called “Russian Orthodox Youth in Germany”.

The meeting was preceded by the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Archbishop Job of Stuttgart, Vicar of the German Diocese of the Russian Church Outside Russia, in the St. Sergius church in Bad-Kissingen. His concelebrants were Archpriest Ilya Limberger, responsible for youth work in the German Diocese of the Church Outside Russia; Archpriest Michael Buk, responsible for youth work in the Archdiocese of the Western European Parishes of the Russian Tradition; Rev. Alexy Veselov, an adviser on the youth work of the Diocese of Berlin-Germany, Rev. Alexis Lemmer, rector of the Parish of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

In his archpastoral homily after the Liturgy, Archbishop Job stressed that the formation of a youth organization in Germany should be based on its participants’ unity in Christ through one faith and participation in the Eucharist.

The meeting was moderated by Andrey Limberger, a member of the initiative group for establishing a youth organization. The Group had worked for two years to develop the statute and negotiate it with the dioceses of the Russian Church in Germany and the civil structures, to prepare and conduct organizational activities. In accordance with the presented conception of the All-German Youth Organization, its aim is to coordinate the youth work, to help develop youth associations in parishes, to obtain and distribute funds for the work.

The website of the Diocese of Berlin-German reports that the delegates of youth groups were unanimous in voting in favour of the establishment of “Russische Orthodoxe Jugend Deutschland e. V.» and adopted the statute of the new organization. In accordance with its statute, the meeting elected the chairperson and the council of the organization.
