On Sunday 13 June 2021, the 7th Sunday after Easter, the first Orthodox service was celebrated on Grand Cayman Island.  With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the Divine Liturgy in the Breakers Public Hall, located in the former capital of the Cayman Islands, Bodden Town, was celebrated by Priest Nikolai Evseev, a cleric of the Diocese of Sourozh.

During the divine service, members of the Russian-speaking community living on the island prayed and received the Holy Mysteries of Christ.  At the end of the service, Father Nikolai delivered a sermon on the theme of the Sunday Gospel reading.

The Cayman Islands is an Overseas Self-Governing Territory of Great Britain.  The islands are home to about 65 thousand people, representing about 130 nationalities, among which there are Orthodox believers.
